Upanayanam is done for the male child when he attains the correct age where he is ready to study all the Vedas, perform every day. It is the process of wearing the sacred white thread. The main rituals performed during this function are Brahmopadesam and Yagnopavidam.
The ceremony is conducted as per their corresponding family Vedas namely Yajur, Rig, Adarvana or Sama and the guru of that particular Veda will perform the entire ceremony as per that vedic Priest & Samagri and its mantras.
